Once again I have successfully gone another month without writing, what can I say I don’t have a job and sit at home all day wondering what to do with myself… I am a very busy girl! But I thought with the holidays so close I need to express how much I love this time of year! To be quite honest it has been a little difficult getting in the Christmas spirit this year because of the lack of snow, but the snow drought is officially over. The snow has arrived, and when it decided to come it wasn’t kidding around! We live really close to the bench and there is easily 1- 1 1/2 ft of snow in our yard…Feebie loves it!
We actually have been receiving a little bit of holiday cheer every day of December, thanks to my sweet aunt Leslie. This year for Christmas she gave Scott and I a darling advent calendar full of goodies. But this is not your average advent calendar, this is a 3D wooden gingerbread house with drawers that pull out for each day of the month, it’s legit! It has been so fun to open it each day and find something new, the plan now is to have it forever and make it a fun tradition for our future family. (emphasis on future!) No, actually i am totally going to make Scott fill half of the boxes next year for me to open…who will bet that he will buy one bag of candy and put one piece in every box. Ha I am kidding I don’t give him enough credit, believe it or not Scott is very creative and has surprised me a number of times with the amount of thought he puts into gift giving. I love ya babe!

Lets not forget the holiday decor around our little house to spice it up for the holidays! My favorite is the tiny stocking we got for Feebie…it’s actually not that small it is just that Scott and I’s are huge (the bigger they are, the more Santa can stuff into them!)

This is as close to a Christmas Tree as we got this year… I know pretty sad.

This is my cute centerpiece, I am so proud!
We kicked off our 12 days till Christmas last weekend by seeing the lights at temple square with our good friends Bret and Laura. The lights were simply amazing as always. They even managed to do a floating nativity on the reflection pond which was neat.

We love you guys!

What are the lights without some hot cocoa?

The happy couple!
We headed back downtown to Temple Square the next night with my family to see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert. I had never gotten tickets to the concert before so I really didn’t know what to expect, but it was so amazing and fun. The stage was so beautiful and Christmasey (we will say that is a word), the guest singer Brian Stokes Mitchell did an incredible job, the choir outdid themselves, and we walked out of there feelin the Christmas spirit!
This week we have busted out our 1,000 piece Christmas puzzle (which we are yet to finish,) received many of your awesome Christmas cards, used our cocoa latte, wrapped tons of presents, warmed our toes up by the fire after getting snow in our shoes, eaten way too many sweets, and sung a carol or two as the countdown to Christmas continues.

I just had to add this pic.
I am staying up way too late writing this post, and my cute husband and puppy just couldn’t hack the late hours!
