I Can hear the Pitter Patter of Little Feet

Over the past couple of weeks I have had babies on my mind, both my older sister and one of my best friends are 6 months prego and due in February! I am so excited! For those of you who know me well, I am such a sucker for babies! I love their smell, their tiny hands, the goos, the gaws, and especially their chubby cheeks! So you can imagine my excitement when I was lucky enough to help throw both Erin and Lindsay’s baby showers this month.

The Jensen women at Erin’s shower on Nov. 5th, check out her perfect little baby bump!

Her nursery is going to be jungle themed, so cute.

My older sister and best friend, Erin, is due to bring a precious baby boy into this world on February 19th! She will make the world’s greatest mother. She has been my idol and example since before I can remember, I cannot even imagine how her children will view and admire her. Both Erin and her husband Jared are the oldest of 5 kids, this little boy will be the first grandchild for both families; we are all so excited we can barely stand it. My mom and I went shopping the other day and I wish I was joking when I say that we spent like two hours in the baby section! Congratulations Erin, I love you so much and cannot wait for you to experience the miracle of motherhood!

My good friend Lindsay is carrying a little girl and due on February 2nd. it will be an incredible month.

We had Lindsay’s shower one week later on Nov. 12th

(She is opening newborn Puma shoes…adorable!)

Her nursery will be Pink and Teal

Lindsay and I have been close since we were little girls. One of our most memorable bonding experiences was on my 12th birthday when I was giving her a ride on the handlebars of my bike. It was all fun and games until she fell off and I ran her over, as if that is not bad enough it broke her leg and she spent the next 2 months in a cast! Or it might be the time that I was convinced that I could hurdle Lindsay’s dad’s new picket fence. She tried to talk me out of it but I wouldn’t hear it, I proceeded to run towards the fence but tripped in the process and crashed right through it leaving a mangled fence behind me! This may give you an idea about Lindsay and I’s relationship…we have a lot of fun! She too will make an excellent mommy.

Scott is happy that I have so many people around me who will let me fawn over their little ones and curb my baby munchies! but what can I say, I adore them! Congratulations Erin and Linds, your precious babes will be here soon!

Since We’ve Been Home
Posted by Scott and Nicole in Uncategorized on 11 10th, 2008| icon31 Comment »

So as of yesterday we have home from our big European adventure for 1 month, and yes it has taken us this long to adjust back to “real” life (actually I still have not adjusted, I am such a bum!) I told myself that I was going to keep this blog up once we got home from our trip and as you can see I have not been very successful, but I figure I am trying!

Two days after we got home we received our first snow of the winter…it was OCTOBER 11th! Can you even believe it, it snowed on October 11th? Well our puppy Feebie sure loved it, it was her first time seeing snow and she went ballistic!

She looks like a little sloth!

We have definitely kept ourselves busy the last month, somehow 5 days after we got home from our vaca my mom wanted to make a trip down to my grandma and grandpa’s who live just outside of San Francisco so we jumped in the car for a week in Cali (suddenly driving for 12 hours didn’t seem so long after spending the last month on trains.) California was great as it always is. My grandparents live in this little hippie town, Sebastopol, where the local trade is ganja. My grandma is an excellent cook and we came home with an extra 5 lb’s around our waists…as if European pastries hadn’t already done me in!

When we got home Scott’s job search was on and by some miracle he landed an amazing job with an angel investment firm, he starts work tomorrow. We are so stoked! It is here in Salt Lake so we will be stickin around the big SLC for a while. Scott plans to stay with this company for a couple of years and then we will take off for grad school where he plans to get his MBA. As for me I have not quite found a job yet, this is due to the lack of me looking for one…I am way too happy just being home with my dog! You may think I am kidding but no I am completely serious, but nonetheless I need to find a job so my hunt will start asap.

Way back in January we did this timeshare presentation and got a free trip to Anaheim, so last week we flew to LA (free), stayed in a hotel for two nights (free), ate sweet food (free), went to Disneyland for half price by buying our tickets on ebay, and were the happiest people in the happiest place on earth. Both Scott and I had not been to Disneyland since we were 7 or 8 so we were pretty stoked, the fact that we payed basically nothing also added to our excitement. My favorite part was the decorations they had up for Halloween, it was so fun! Halloween is my very favorite holiday (well i guess its second to Christmas of coarse) but I absolutely love it. I love the season, the leaves, the colors, the smells, the costumes, the candy, I love it all! So to be in Disneyland 2 days before Halloween was really great! As for our favorite rides, I really loved the new Pirates of the Caribbean and Scott liked the Indiana Jones one, but we both throughly enjoyed the Buzz Light Year AstroBlasters. For those of you who don’t know what this ride is; you basically go around in a little seat and have a laser gun and try to shoot as many targets as possible. It brought out Scott and I’s competitive side, we had to do the ride multiple times just to try to beat each others score!

We were able to email ourselves this picture of us on the ride, yes we are very concentrated!

We decided that the next Disney trip we make will be when we have kids, it looks a little more legit when you are waiting in line for Finding Nemo with children rather than two adults! It really didn’t matter to us, we did the WHOLE park plus California Adventure in record time, we had a blast!

I love Halloween!!!

Gotta Love Splash Mountain, Scott was in the Front and got SOAKED!

Scott makes a pretty scary Indiana Jones, as for the bolt of lighting…

no idea how that happened but it makes for a cool effect, right?

Oh Minnie!

So we got home from Disneyland just in time to celebrate Halloween. I was a little bent out of shape about finding a costume but oh did we pull through! We showed up as John Lennon and a Beatles groupie, Scott so looked the part, it was hilarious! We partied with Crystalyn and Rob (who we are dating exclusively:) ) and some friends, then we all headed up to Park City for some hot tubing and a sleepover in one of the couples condos. It was pretty much an awesome Halloween!

Pretty good huh?!?

Dirty Mustaches….So hot right now!

And yes this post continues because the next day November 1st was Scott’s Birthday! It is a tradition that everyone gives Scott their best candy from trick or treating the night before so he was sure to collect from all the children he knew! We had a great day eating breakfast in Park City, playing a heated match of tennis (which I let Scott win for his birthday, not really he killed me,) having a birthday party with my fam while watching the BYU vs. Colorado State game (which was so intense and ended with BYU winning 45-42,) and hittin up the Jazz game where our good friend Ernie gave us 1st Row seats. Overall you could say that Scott came out on top for this 24th Birthday! Happy Birthday Babe, you are the greatest, I love you!

Go Jazz Go!

P.S. I finally posted some pics of Amsterdam on the last post so check them out!
